I made it into The Wire

This is the first scene after the opening theme, it's framed into the opening credits with Mayor of Baltimore Tommy Carcetti snipping a red rebbon with a huge pair of scissors. I'm not a still photographer, but I play one on TV. This is from Episode 6 from the fifth and final season of The Wire. It's a crazy, crazy episode btw, it came on demand last night, and will premiere next Sunday on HBO at 9pm est.

1/11/08 - Friday Night Party in DC

Hey this one worked out better than expected - thanks to everyone that came out to Chill. A lot of old friends, a lot of new faces, thanks to everyone. DJ Meistro you're the man dewd. Max B you're the man dewd. KH Visionz you are the f*#$ng man. Ben Sherwood you are one of the illest graphic designers out there, thanks for the sick flyer, the latest in a long line of twenty-seven four, russboy ish. We're gonna get back to work in the lab for a spell, but we'll get back at you in a couple weeks to Chill again. Oh, and so you know right now, we do plan on outdoing ourselves so get ready to have an even better time at the next Chill. It's gonna be a video op for a package that's going to St. Louis next month. You know we rep DC to the fullest, so yea the less said the better - miSHdiesel - miSHa davidson - ishmasters - russboy productions - original cofounder of ishlab - nyu grad music tech - sidwell friends - interlochen - moscow - some of my boys: watkins, murphy, amos, skaihai, shendizel, benji. that's a brief selected resumé for those seeking references. I'm also really getting into creating and licensing original music for placement in commercials, tv shows, online ads, etc. Making music is what it's all about, whether in the studio or on stage, in the practice room or at the party, exploited air particles move through time and space sonorously offering escape. That's just the gist of one variation of infinity. Although while we're here, there's only a finite number of times it seems.

Obzi

Live performance is the final frontier of the true artist. You are actually there when it happens. Music accompanies your life when i'm not around, and to play it to your face when we're together. Getting this original sound to bounce back once you've sent it to outer-space, that's a different story. Last couple shows in DC there was a few hundred of us each time. That's a good feeling.

Making music is the easy part? As good as she flows, the true musician is never satisfied. Perfection flies away as the inconsistency of humanity reminds us how good we will never be. But if they're hungry will they bite? Well what are they going to bite on? As hard as it is to be a good musician, getting it out there can take your mind off it. While the music stops playing in your head.

Stay in touch. Make yourself available to others. Know how to get off the phone when you have to. Be prolific. Quench your thirst for knowledge. Exercise your body and breathe a lot. Know your limits. This is just between you and i.

Introduction

Here goes nothing. My first real blog jont. My mama always said i should combine music and writing. So for lack of a better send-off (break a bottle of sovetskii champagne on the bow), the exploration awaits, let the adventure begin.

At this moment in time, this is just for me. I am happy to share with you as it comes along. I'll try and maintain a sort-of closed online virtual-editing room where i can develop ideas through the collection and organization of various clippings, thoughts, etc.

Currently i am typing this using writeroom. The entire 15-inch screen of my MacBook Pro is blacked out and i am typing from a bluetooth keyboard a few feet away from the monitor. I also have a wireless usb mouse nearby. I have the scale at 200% and the type color set to a warm-orange against a pitch-black background. It's pretty nice. This allows me to type comfortably and free from distraction. I've also installed some interesting add-ons for firefox. The first and most important one is stumbleupon.

I created a profile and installed the add-on several months ago. Since then my online experience has never been more enjoyable. I always knew all this great content was out there. I just didn't know how to find it. Now all i do is click the stumble button and it finds it for me. A great, yet addictive way to pass time, stumbling is a great way to find new content on the internet according to your interests when you find yourself, as many of us do nowadays, in front of a computer screen with a moment to spare.

Through the use of tagging pages, "i like it," or "i don't like it" you create a personalized history of various places across the web that caught your interest for whatever reason. I've personally found much of the scope of the internet to be a secret language that i was not inclined to learn. Now many of my interests have found a place to sprout thanks to tagging random stumbles.

I feel ready to start exploring the blog format as a place to explore, discuss and creatively develop ideas and content. I'm guessing that as the exploration continues branches will grow pursuing more specific themes thoroughly. Explore the world around us through virtual-reality. As a way to enrich our lives and illuminate our presence, as in the global community.

We are all a part of it already. I feel committed to my role. To express myself and explore with others. To pursue these passions. To continue to grow as a person in knowledge and spirit. There are so many resources out there available to us. I want to be up-to-the-time. It has begun.
